Predestination

Week 12: Mar 19th – 25th

Bible passage to read: Ephesians 1:5-6

“For [those] whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, [those] whom He predestined these He also called, whom He called these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified”

 Romans 8:29-30

Destination is the end point of a traveler. It is totally different from a bus stop, it is a bus terminal. No matter how attractive a bus stop or bus garage could be it can never be compared to a bus terminal. Buses can afford to stay at the bus stops, but that is just going to be for a little while. It can never be for long. Bus terminals are the only place where a bus is permitted to terminate and take its rest!

As Christians, our destination is inscribed in our destiny and that is the will of God for us from the beginning of the world. As funny as it may sound, God does not give us the chance to know our end from the beginning. That is the reason why he said: he predestines us from the beginning. This means that he alone knows our end even when we are in the beginning. What a mighty God! No wonder he is referred to as the Alfa and Omega, the beginning and the end.

In the book of Jeremiah chapter one, God told Jeremiah that he already know him even from the womb. That is the kind of God we serve, he knows every one of us before calling us. He knows your capabilities and incapabilities. He knew that Moses had a stammering voice before he called him to be a preacher, speaker, prophet, and leader. Since he is the one who creates, he knows his handwork very well and he knows the best tool to use in remodeling his handwork at any time. What an awesome repairer!

God can never send you on an errand without making provisions for your Journey and no matter how people hide you, God will still bring you to his desired position for himself if you are willing to follow him. David and Moses are good examples of this. The situation of the land made the Parent of Moses to hide him but God still brought him into relevance. David was totally forgotten and counted unworthy for anointing but God brought him out to be anointed and enthroned because his head has been predestined for a crown.

It doesn’t matter what you are passing through, what matter most is where God is taking you too! You may not look like it now but that does not mean you will not become it. The Israelites were destined to reach the promise land and they eventually got there despite the tribulations that stared them in the face while journeying in the wilderness. The only sets of Israelites that do not reach Canaan were the unbelievers who tempted God in the wilderness.

You can only be the architect of your misfortunes; you are the only one that has the permission of destroying your destiny by yourself. If you allow God to lead you, then you can be sure of getting to your destination safely. But if you decide to go on a trip that is not ordered by God, you will end up paying your fares (Jonah 1:3). Wait upon the Lord for the best and he will take you to your Canaan in due time (Hebrews 10:39).

Let’s pray together. No matter what has taken you into oblivion, the Lord will bring you out for recognition and you will triumph over all conditions in Jesus name. What limited the people around you or the people before you will not limit you, you will manifest fully to the glory of God in Jesus name. You shall live to fulfill the purpose of God concerning you in Jesus name
