Fear; Nothing but a mirage

As a little kid, whenever I travelled with my parents by road, I often saw something weird. I noticed that each time I looked far ahead, I would see water lying on the ground and I’ll be wondering whether it is raining ahead or it had rained before.
But as we moved closer, something perplexing happens. The water suddenly disappears! I mean the closer we get, the instant the water vanishes. I’ll then begin to wonder why it happens that way. However, I noticed this experience always happened. Always! As a kid, I couldn’t understand why but as the years went by, I discovered that what I constantly saw then was a MIRAGE.
A mirage or an illusion is something that appears to be but in actual fact, it isn’t. It’s just a False Entity Appearing Real. I mean it’s just a FEAR. I guess you may have had a similar experience as a kid or even now as an adult.
Or consider this case, most kids are often scared of the dark. Why? Though the Christian faith states that as men, we are meant for the light but another reason is that kids do have an illusion of a scary image in the dark. Even an adult who wakes up in the dead of the night when the lights are turned off may suddenly envisage a mirage and would be frightened until he turns the light back on to see what’s actually there, only to realise that it was nothing but a mirage. Yet, we often have these mirages in our lives.

[pullquote]I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. – Nelson Mandela[/pullquote]

So what’s the moral lesson here? Our fears are like that water I often see on the road and that scary image you see in the dark. It appears to be real but once we move closer or attempt to try out that thing, we discover it wasn’t the way we thought it to be or it isn’t as difficult as we perceived it to be.

So what are those fears you usually have? That you kill yourselves in thought, only to later find out it’s false. What are those fears you have of the future, on your job, in business, relationships and so on?
You are scared that idea may not work. You are scared she won’t respond to your proposal, you are scared of confronting your boss. You were scared of meeting or marketing to a client only to summon the courage and then discover he is just as soft as water. You were scared of being interviewed and maybe you lost your composure but you realised that the interview did not take your life after all.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Stop killing yourself over what’s not real. You don’t have the spirit of fear but of love, but of power, love, sound mind, good health, knowledge, wisdom et al. There’s nothing to fear but fear itself. Find the courage to face your fear. If you win, you will be happy. If you lose, you will be wise. There are no losses in life, only lessons.

One man with courage is a MAJORITY! And when an army is about to lose a war, the first thing they lose is their COURAGE. Have courage to face your fears. Courage is fear that has said its prayers.
Nevertheless, don’t misunderstand me. Danger is real but Fear is a Choice.
